Truffle Tuesdays

 

 

As the only vineyard of AOC Cahors in the canton of Lalbenque, the truffle capital, Château de Haute-Serre felt duty bound to give pride of place to the famous “tuber melanosporum” that is recognised the world over for its quality.

This is why, every Tuesday from January to March, Georges Vigouroux concocts a winemaker’s lunch set around the truffle, in the recently furnished restaurant in the château chais.

A special truffle menu with the perfect partnering between food and the château’s wines is thought up by master chef Philippe Combet.







You can extend your stay in the land of the black diamond with a visit to Lalbenque truffle market that starts at 2 p.m. on the dot in the main street.

This single menu is made depending on the fresh produce available on the day at the market.
